Motion Sickness?  No Problem!

There's no reason to avoid a Sailing Vacation in the British Virgin Islands. The Sir Francis Drake Channel provides shelter from the open ocean swells and with the winds "just right" and the anchorages calm and still, everyone will have an enjoyable charter.

For additional security we recommend that those susceptible to motion sickness start taking Dramamine® 24 hours before the start of the trip or for even greater security, check out these newer and perhaps more effective treatments listed below:

Transderm-scop® patches are worn behind the ear.  A prescription is currently required for the patch, but we understand that they will be over-the-counter in the near future.  Find out more at Transdermsop.com.

There's a device you'll find sold in most drugstores, not only for motion sickness but also for morning sickness. It's called ReliefBand® and it really seems to work, and quickly. It costs around $80 in drug stores, or more in marine stores. You may want to check out this device, but if you do, take along a couple of sets of spare batteries so you'll be sure to have enough to last a week, as it runs through them rather quickly quickly.

Another simpler product worn on the wrist to prevent motion sickness is an accupressure wrist band. Many people swear by these things and they are used by several military organizations around the world. You'll find them sold in many stores and through the internet and this device sells for under $10.
